NWPS Construction's very own Jeff Jones will be joining the CLIC Sargent North Wales Marathon Team for the 2012 London Marathon in support for children and young people with cancer.

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity and as such, plays a key role in providing care and support for children and young people diagnosed with cancer. We are there every step of the way.

During treatment – providing specialist nurses, play specialists, homes from home

In hospital and at home – offering specialist social care and support in the community - services for young people, holidays, grants, helpline

After treatment – helping survivors, supporting those bereaved

Rhian Prichard (Team leader) is a CLIC Sargent Specialist Nurse in North Wales and finds her work extremely rewarding; “It is such a privilege to work alongside these children, young people and their families. It’s a time when they are at their most vulnerable and fragile. CLIC Sargent provides a constant form of support and reassurance to the child and family every step of the way and when needed, co-ordinates the management of terminal and end of life care at home”.

This year, Rhian has organised a team to run the 2012 London Marathon. The team is made up of 14 runners who all have a link to Rhian and CLIC Sargent. Of the team of 14, there are 4 Fathers, 2 Mothers and 2 Sisters of children and young adults who are being cared for and supported by Rhian. The team is aiming to raise £26,200, that is a staggering £1,000 per mile.
